June 2021: After what seems like an eternity in lock down, things are starting up again in the Hartl Lab and samples have arrived on campus from the recent DeepGreen cruise to assess the impact of experimental deep sea mining.

September 2020: Contributed to a BBC Scotland piece on PPE as a new source of single-use plastic litter in the 
marine environment.

Oct 2020: Dr Hartl co-chaired the Multiple Marine Stressors Session at the online MASTS Annual Science Meeting and 
presented at the SCOTChem sponsored multi-disciplinary workshop on Plastics in the Oceans.
