October 2019: Funding success: "Seabed Mining And Resilience To EXperimental impact (SMARTEX)"
has been successful in attacting £4.5m pounds. It is being led by the NationalOceanography Centre (NOC)
in Southampton. Heriot-Watt's Prof Andrew Sweetman (Lyell Centre) will be leading the Ecosystem Function
work package and Dr. Mark Hartl the ecotoxicology work.
